Whether it’s creating local jobs as a small business owner, working with local teens as a youth minister, keeping our communities safe by serving as an auxiliary police officer or by working nearly a decade in local government getting results, John has the experience and unique advantage to effect positive change for the East Shore of Staten Island and Bay Ridge.
John has always put his community first and he will continue to do so as your next New York State Assemblyman.
John is the Captain/Commanding Officer of NYPD Auxiliary Police for the 122 Precinct and Highway Patrol Unit #5 (Staten Island). He has received numerous awards for his service since 1998, including Supervisor of the Year and Officer of the Year. He is also a volunteer with the NYC Parks Department Enforcement Patrol’s Mounted Auxiliary Unit.
For the last 14 years, John has been involved in youth ministry, and has had the opportunity to work with many of the top youth ministry leaders in the United States. As a motivational speaker and retreat leader, he discusses topics such as leadership and bullying with over 15,000 teens each year in local parishes, youth conferences and in his home base, the St. Francis Center for Spirituality in Todt Hill. Additionally, he is co-host of The Devil’s Advocate podcast with David A. Dein, where they discuss everyday religious and social issues targeting teens and young adults.
Previously, John served as Chief of Staff to NYC Council Member Vincent Gentile, Deputy Chief of Staff to former NYS Senator Seymour Lachman and Vice President of Marketing & Public Relations at Supreme Chocolatier in Bloomfield.
John is the current treasurer of the Young Democrats of Richmond County. He is a member of the board of directors of local non-profit organizations New York Center for Interpersonal Development and Community Health Action of Staten Island.
